Is having a positive self image important?You bet it is! A positive self image is accepting yourself as the person you are and holding warm and nonjudgmental regard for others.It is finding positive ways to express your individuality and being self reliant and determined.Being positive about your self-image,makes others feel more at ease and relaxed around you. Your image can be defined by events that affected you, doing well or not in school,work and relationships.It is the mental portrait we all have of ourselves whether we see ourselves as smart or stupid,beautiful or ugly,talented or incompetent.This image you have of yourself plays a huge role in how you behave and feel and is important for our confidence,our motivation and our sense of achievement.
If you believe in yourself,people will be more likely to see you as a positive,capable person. Your image is perhaps the greatest determiner of your success and in any endeavor,especially this is true in the business world.
A lot of your self-image is based on interactions you have with other people and your life experiences.The importance of this is usually disputed by individuals who are humble,introverted or just really shy by nature. A positive self image is the foundation of everything in life. Our image is so important to us because we all want to belong to something meaningful,desirable and important. Here is a poem I wrote when I was in early alcohol recovery. It just makes so much sense to those of us who have been to Hell and back. God Made Me to be Me I didn't know I knew I knew,I didn't know like me and you.I am a miracle and God chose me to be me,not like any other around. Quite similar, but different in many ways.He chose me to be me cause that's what he planned.I am God's miracle,that's who I am.
