Weight control helps your fitness needs
Weight control is the first step in beginning a program that can achieve your fitness goals. Your diet must be well balanced with no use of diet pills. The goal you want to achieve is not a desired body weight but a healthy body weight. Controlling your weight is a lifelong effort and you will need to test different tools to find the ones that help you.

Being overweight is more than just a cosmetic problem. Many serious medical conditions have been linked to obesity, including type two diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke. Obesity is probably our number one public health problem in this country and in all of the developed countries of the world. Obese men are more likely to die of cancer of the colon, rectum or prostate. Obese women are more likely to die of cancer of the gallbladder, breast, uterus, cervix or ovaries.Weight control is much more complex than simply eating less. Sometimes it is very difficult to understand why one person can eat much more than another person and not gain a pound. Too much fat can obscure imaging tests, like X-rays,CT scans, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging, known as MRI. Obesity is now considered a disease, not a moral failing. According to a report from the Institute of Medicine, obesity is a heterogeneous disease in which genetic, environmental, psychological and other factors are involved.
Weight control starts with stocking healthy food in your pantry and refrigerator. Eat a variety of foods, emphasizing pasta, rice, bread and other whole-grain foods as well as fruits and vegetables. These foods are filling, but lower in calories than foods rich in fats or oils. Eating a variety of foods is a good way to improve your health. To make sure you get all of the nutrients needed for good health, choose a variety of foods from each group in the Food Guide Pyramid each day.Research has shown that when you break down the cell walls of your foods, more nutrients are released into the blood stream. When you receive more nutrients per gram of food ingested, you are satisfied sooner and you eat less by choice, not by depriving yourself. Research has also shown that a high-protein diet reduces your appetite and increases the metabolism. Research has shown that a person doesn't need to lose a massive amount of weight to see improvements in health. A modest loss of just five to 7 percent of body weight helps a lot. Increase your muscle mass and you'll be increasing your body's capacity to burn calories both during activity and at rest. Help your body by helping yourself with your weight control. You’ll be glad you did! :)
